Maybe it's some of you that have hear of the Gili Islands, and maybe have you been there as well? It's small group of islands outside Bali, and you can easily get therhee by 2-3 hours boat (well if you are unlucky it can take 6 hours, depending on the weather and boat haha). I've been staying att the biggest island, Trawangan (the other two are called Gili Meno and Gili Air), both times I've been there. It's where to most people choose to stay, especially backpackers.
When you take your first step on the island, it's something special about it, and Trawangan has a special place in my heart you could say. I've had so so many fun and absolutely amazing days there. It's incredible beautiful and you can easily rent a bike and explore the entire island, with several different beaches, unique hotels, restaurants etc.
When I was there, me and my friend rented a villa and I really recommend you to do that if you are more than two (otherwise it can be expensive). It's certainty a special feeling with having your own place where you can cook your own dinner, enjoy a private terrace and pool, living the dream! There are plenty villas to choose from in different price classes, I think we paid around 10 euros each per night.
Trawangan offers a big selection of restaurants, bars and some boutiques and cafés as well. It's a lot of backpackers and the atmosphere is so happy and enjoyable. First time I was there we partied more than the last time I visited the Island, both has it's pros and cons of course and it depends on what you like. The best thing is that you get both there, and can choose to visit the party street or not.
We enjoyed amazing dinners at the beach, talking about life while drinking a glass of red wine and we had to pinch ourselves in the arm as lucky we were, staying at a paradise island.
